I have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (also from the University of Colorado, Boulder). My current research resides at the intersection of materials science, chemical engineering, and biology, and to date my focus has been on investigating stimuli-responsive and living polymers and nanogel platforms primarily for dental, optical, and biomedical applications. I have an extensive background in responsive polymers and would like to learn more about the challenges in the field in which I can make meaningful contributions. Given my background, I am interested in developing polymeric scaffolds that can support and direct cell behavior. I believe in the urgent need for alternatives to our current food systems and I would like to use my skill and background to further this cause. My primary appointment is in the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, with additional appointments with the University of Colorado Materials Science and Engineering program in Boulder and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Anschutz Medical Campus.
