Danai Georgiadou is a stem cell biologist with a strong background in primary cell line isolation and characterization. She is currently at the forefront of the Bioprocessing Technology Institute, leading the cell line workstream within the CRISP meats project, a major research initiative on cultured meat involving multiple institutions. The species that they are currently focusing on are crustaceans, porcine and chicken, establishing robust cell lines from both fat and muscle tissue.
